MUSICAL BIOGRAPHY
Glenn Musto is an Australian songwriter and recording artist whose work moves between indie rock, folk, lo fi and melodic pop. Originating near Fremantle, Western Australia, he has spent more than two decades writing and performing across a range of projects, developing a reputation for emotionally direct and deeply intuitive songwriting rooted in honesty, instinct and human connection.
In the early 2000s Musto fronted Perth indie band Showbag!, whose cult following grew through their loose melodic sound, heartfelt live shows and distinctive sense of character. The band shared stages with artists including Guided By Voices, Cat Power, Darren Hanlon and The Mountain Goats. He later toured extensively through Europe with pop duo College Fall, performing festivals and club shows across Scandinavia, the United Kingdom and mainland Europe. Back in Australia, he became known for his work with indie rock trio The Nordeens, a band built around big guitars, big feelings and unforgettable melodies.
Today Musto lives on Wadawurrung Country in regional Victoria, where he runs the Sanctuary of Sentient Beings animal rescue sanctuary and records much of his music in a wooden cabin surrounded by bushland and rescued animals. This connection to place has shaped his recent work, with songs often created simply and instinctively, guided by the rhythms of life on the land.
Alongside his solo work, Musto continues to collaborate with his various projects, including the reunion of Showbag! and new recording project Glenn Musto and The Tundra. He is currently writing his second solo album, a deeply personal body of work exploring belonging, responsibility, Country and our relationship with the more than human world.

At its heart, songwriting for Glenn Musto has always been an exploration of connection. Across more than two decades of writing and recording, Musto’s songs have returned to recurring questions:
