Wallaby Tracks is a small, personal recording and production studio nestled within the Sanctuary of Sentient Beings, surrounded by bush, wildlife and the living landscape of the Brisbane Ranges.
It is a different kind of recording environment.
Rather than entering a commercial studio where the clock and production process can dictate the experience, Wallaby Tracks offers a slower, more personal approach to recording and making music.
The natural surroundings, the animals, the landscape and the spaciousness of the Sanctuary become part of the creative environment.
There is room to listen.
Room to experiment.
Room to follow a song where it wants to go.
And room to make a recording that feels like you.
What Wallaby Tracks offers
Demo Recording
Capture a song, performance or collection of ideas in a relaxed environment without the pressure or expense of a full production.
Ideal for developing songs, creating quality demos, recording live performances or simply getting an idea out of your head and into the world.
Recording
Record vocals, instruments, acoustic performances, songwriting ideas or more developed projects in a natural and intimate studio environment.
Mixing
Bring in recordings made elsewhere and work together to shape them into a finished mix, or mix material recorded at Wallaby Tracks.
Mastering
Final preparation and mastering of completed recordings for release, streaming and distribution.
Full Song Production
Develop a song from its initial idea through to a finished recording.
This can include arrangement, instrumentation, performance, recording, editing, production, mixing and mastering, depending on what the song needs.
Creative Production
Sometimes the most important part of making a recording happens before anyone presses record.
We can work together on arrangement, structure, instrumentation, sound, performance and the emotional character of a song, helping it discover what it wants to become.
Recording with a difference
Wallaby Tracks is closely connected to the Elemental Zen approach to creativity.
The aim is not simply to make something technically polished.
It is to create the conditions in which something real can emerge.
That means listening deeply to the song, allowing space for unexpected ideas, avoiding unnecessary production and knowing when to follow an instinct rather than a formula.
The bush and Sanctuary provide an environment where the usual distractions can fall away. You can step outside, walk among the trees, hear the birds, spend time with the animals or simply sit with an idea before returning to the music.
Sometimes that space is exactly what a song needs.
A personal studio for considered work
Wallaby Tracks is intentionally small.
There are only limited opportunities to work on projects, which allows each recording to receive genuine attention and care.
If you are considering recording, producing or completing a project, I recommend getting in touch well in advance to discuss your needs and find a suitable time.
Projects can range from a single song or demo through to a complete recording project.
